Raison d’etre
I write to explore the unspoken — the quiet moments, the tangled longings, the truths we sidestep in daylight. My words often find their way to the page in search of meaning, connection, or simply the ache of being human.
My first book, Love, Lust, Longing and Truth, was published in 2017. A second collection, Deluge in a Paper Cup, followed in 2020. I’m also a contributing author to Faster than the Future, a collaborative exploration of how we face the digital age.
While I’ve spent marvelous decades as a journalist and story strategist for brands, this space isn’t about the work I do for others.
It’s about the words that don’t leave me alone.
The ones that linger in the air after a conversation ends.
Floating until I can catch them and bring them to the page.
The ones that demand to be written.
I live between worlds — the analytical and the emotional, the structured and the lyrical.
Here, I lean into the latter. Enjoy the chaos and truth.

Jennifer is an author, speculative poet and flash fiction writer. Her two books of poetry and hybrid story poems, Love, Lust, Longing & Truth and deluge in a paper cup, have five-star reviews on Amazon from readers around the world. Jennifer’s writing is a fusion of stream-of-consciousness, speculative prose and storytelling. Evocative and authentic, Jennifer’s insistent female voice reminds us of our vulnerability and strength.
Jennifer is a senior tech contributor at Forbes since 2012. She writes about science and technology and their impact on culture, the environment and well-being.
Jennifer lives in Dallas, Texas, after living for more than a decade in France and Europe. She happily spends her days beekeeping, writing poetry, and chasing the eternal why with her loveable beagles Gigi and Fiona and eccentric cats Calliope and Mary Margaret.
